Medical Supplies Company
Bringing IT together
The Talent Development Manager of a large medical supplies company, who had worked with us before in a different role, approached us to help him develop his eLearning offering for 350 staff.
The organisation was launching HR self-service and some other modules of SAP Success Factors in January and wanted to explore the possibility of working with Engage in Learning to develop and deliver an eLearning solution for the company.
The customer was already familiar with our library of off-the-shelf eLearning courses but also wanted to expand the microlearning offering to complement the courses. We were able to offer access to Bookboon corporate eBooks to fit in with this strategy which they loved.
He also wanted to provide access to IT and Business skills training. We recommended that he include our third-party IT training courses provided by Filtered and Gopas as well as our Effective Email course – created in partnership with Emailogic – the UK’s leading provider of email management training.
By creating a package of training that solved his needs, Engage in Learning were able to deliver a truly complete solution which the customer was delighted with. The training has proved very successful.
Ingredients for training success
The Learning and Development Manager at well-known food manufacturer found herself in a situation when the organisation through acquisition was freed from their first-generation eLearning, and able to develop a new best in class training system essentially from scratch.
They had a strong alignment to the 70:20:10 model of learning and we worked with them to develop an LMS which reflected this, as well as their organisational values, the ethos of putting learning into the hands of the 500 learners through specific developmental pathways, and combining management of classroom training with an extensive online content library.
We designed and developed a Totara LMS which has the look and feel of an in house product, with single sign-on integration, two-way integration with their HR system, and the capability to carry out their workforce performance evaluation process. The main brief for this new LMS was for the Learning and Development team to support the career and development aspirations of their workforce.
After a close collaboration with their senior teams, we produced a truly bespoke solution which included branded LMS, course catalogue, induction programme and development guide.
Our Account Manager and Customer Success Manager ensured that we were with them every step of the way from initial enquiry to launch of the LMS, giving them a truly next-generation blended learning experience taking full advantage of the cutting edge features available within our content, and within Totara.
Familiarity breeds content
One of our longest-standing customers with over 90,000 employees, this truly global facilities management services company initially approached us to provide an LMS to reflect their complex organisational structure and existing infrastructure.
Working with the Head of Global HR Engage in Learning configured a Totara LMS with branding and styling and populated with the Engage in Learning content library.
This required a compartmentalised design that gave all their businesses the power to reflect their specific operational requirements, while at the same time bringing the management of learning within a single central resource for the first time.
The LMS was rolled out regionally and was designed to include automated enrolment and report generation.
Engage in Learning provided support on decision making, configuration and, where required, customisation. This featured best practice advice, consultancy, and training on features such as Competencies, Learning Plans, Appraisals, and 360 feedback and the reporting required to support these features.
The network infrastructure and supporting hardware also had to be scaled up sufficiently to facilitate a global operational requirement. Finally, the customer required the language capability to support their multinational workforce, for many of whom, English is not the first language.
We also provided a number of custom created niche courses as well as customised modules to meet the needs of specific divisions in Healthcare, Security and Catering.
The Senior HR team were delighted with this initial project and are now working with Engage in Learning to develop custom eLearning courses. We look forward to many more years of co-operation.
